Air traffic down in October and November

For October 2008, passenger traffic at Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) totaled 492,258, an 8.4 percent decrease from the same period in 2007. During November, 603,366 passengers traveled through the airport, a decrease of 7.4 percent compared to November 2007. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is down 6.1 percent over the same period last year.

The traffic leader in November was AirTran with 104,530 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Other top airlines include JetBlue with 80,975 passengers, Delta with 68,800 passengers, Southwest with 57,962 passengers and US Airways with 53,055 passengers.

Airlines offer nonstop flights to Milwaukee and Washington, D.C.

USA3000 Airlines has resumed service between Milwaukee’s General Mitchell International Airport and Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). Nonstop service to Milwaukee is offered Monday through Saturday. JetBlue Airways now offers daily nonstop service to Washington Dulles (IAD) from RSW.
