Featured attraction: Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center

Located in the Fort Myers River District along the Caloosahatchee River, the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center is a relatively new cultural opportunity set in a beautiful, historic location.

Circa 1933

The center is a historic Florida federal building dating back to 1933. It once housed a post office and courthouse and now has been transformed into an exhibition hall for the visual and performing arts, including both regional and internationally acclaimed works. Classroom space also is featured, providing visitors with the opportunity to enjoy classes, workshops and presentations for all ages.

The landmark building is an artful blend of the historic and contemporary, especially in the evening when its neoclassical columns are dramatically illuminated with English, Latin and Greek Indian words by twin cylindrical sculptures. By daylight, one can detect coral formations embedded in the building’s Florida key limestone.
